The Queens Hotel was opened in 1893 and was touted has a modern, fireproof hotel. Although considered a jewel of Montreals Victorian architecture, it closed during the late 1970s and was left to decay until it was demolished in 1988 except for a small part meant to be incorporated into a new construction.
