It was born of the desire to transform a pencil sketch into a tangible object, a minimalist approach with no overwriting to make the drawing three dimensional. And so, a bent tube outlines the contours of the chair, not only in the all metal outdoor version but also in the indoor versions with a wooden or upholstered pad.
