Rogers [1763 1855] followed Gilpin's recipe for touring, and recorded his views in accordance with the fashion Gilpin had established. In 1792, their paths crossed. The correspondence that followed reveals their relationship and Gilpin's influence on Rogers' own picturesque ideals. Includes historical context, illustrations
