Agave obscura Lantana Sinningia eumorpha
Baker’s notes & crumb story
Description
Sinningia eumorpha
Acanthus mollis 'Wofford Rhubarb' has formed a 2' tall x 3' wide clump of scalloped
nicely vigorous and it goes without saying that any plant with bacon in its name must be good
We anticipate the clumps to reach 14" tall x 3' wide
Agave obscura Lantana Sinningia eumorpha(syn: A. polycantha var. jalapensis) This collection of the rare (or should I say obscure) North American native agave hails from the Mexican states of Oaxaca, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, and Veracruz, where it can be found on rocky, granite basalt outcrops. This small 2' wide, rarely suckering, century plant forms a tight mound of green, small spined leaves, topped when mature with a dramatic 15' tall flower spike of dark red flowers.
