Hosta Silver Lode Cymbidium light lavender-blue flowersThanks to plantsman Roy Klehm for sharing this hosta that he picked up on a visit to Japan. The fast growing, show stopping Hosta 'Fortunei' type plant makes a nice 3' wide clump of medium green leaves, highlighted by a large white center. In late summer, Hosta 'Silver Lode' becomes viridescent (the center pattern turns light green). The vigorous clumps are topped with 30" scapes of light lavender flowers in midsummer.
