The plate is decorated in the polychrome Hizen pattern, an Aesthetic Movement era design. The Aesthetic movement was highly influenced by Japanese art and design one can see the Japanese influence on the decoration of this plate. The marking on the underside of the plate was used after 1862 and before 1891. The plate measures 10 1 4 in
