Albert Boxler, Sommerberg Riesling Vintage:2018 (from vines planted in 1992)
Baker’s notes & crumb story
Description
(from vines planted in 1992)
I can’t recall a more vivid vinous evocation of cantaloupe – every much emphasizing its musky and earthy aspects – than is on display here
I cant say enough good things about the Brovia family and what they have accomplished over the years
Here too the mouth feel of the middle weight and fleshy flavors is refined and velvety while delivering more size and weight if less minerality on the mildly austere finish where the wood announced by the nose reappears
Albert Boxler, Sommerberg Riesling Vintage:2018 (from vines planted in 1992)The 2018 Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg shows a clear, deep and complex, very fine and elegant but generous nose of fruity, floral and iodine notes. Full bodied and rich but fine and elegant on the palate, this is a Sommerberg with a persistently saline finish with attacking and slightly drying tannins. 14% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022.
