AMM272 Ammonite Fossil (South Dakota) Graveyard Point Plume Agate 3" x 4" baseThis ammonite specimen comes from South Dakota in the Cretaceous period when the area was submerged by the Western Interior Seaway millions of years ago. They are typically preserved in hard concretions that must be carefully removed. This sizeable fossil shows complex leafy suture patterns over almost the entire surface. Mostly dark brown, there are some spots of preserved shell showing red, yellow, and green iridescence. It has a fairly well
