The book was published by McClelland and Stewart in 1971 and is presumed a first Canadian edition although unstated. I think that the Canadian edition pre dates the American as Richler was a Canadian novelist, but Im not sure Wikipedia states the Canadian edition as being the first. It has its original dust jacket, which is unclipped
