Pear Tree Style:'Bosc' shrubs and turfgrassBuerr 'Bosc' pear tree is believed to be Belgium in origin, discovered early in the 19th century by a M. Bosc who raved about the buttery (buerr) characteristics. M. Bosc was the director of the Botanical Gardens in Paris. Originally planted in eastern states in 1830s, but proved better adapted to the western states due to the longer growing season. The Bosc pear is tender, aromatic, spicy sweet flesh inside green yellow skin overlaid with cinnamon
