It was a cultural phenomenon. So now that George Lucas had the budget and interest, he decided he wanted to fix it up. He went in and added CGI to various already existing scenes and released it theatrically as the "Special Edition." To advertise the films' re release, Star Wars teamed up with fast food chain Taco Bell and made special edition boxes and toys. This
